What makes humans unique?

I was born in December 1997. You made your first girlfriend a long time ago. The day when you get your salary is, usually, the happiest day of the month. But what are dates really? Not dates the fruits. Not the ones you unfortunately do not get. Those dates which measure time. Dates that are quantifying time. Thus, do they really matter? Why is so important to associate a story or a mood to a certain date?

For example, I never understood why people become happier on their birthday. Really? Why? You are just closer to your death by one year! Are you really gonna celebrate this? It is just another day, another time. What is the purpose of it?

I think, it only matters because you need it in your papers so the people know if you are or are not over 18. There are more accurate ways of calculating "age". For example, your brain's age(physical brain), your biological age. Let's not get into it now.

What about your first girlfriend/boyfriend? Well, it is good you had one, though I don't think it is actually useful to know that date, not by any means. When you get your salary, omg, what a day! It is all I am saying about this.

Of course, there are more things that these dates are measuring, for example when Holocaust has happened. This is an important one. Though, I still don't understand its purpose. I mean, maybe it is useful for historics and detectives or some other odd careers. You know, for the timeline of events. But why do I have to know this? Yeah, it was a catastrophe, I know what happened, I know what followed. I cannot understand the purpose of the date , though. It marks an important event in our history which should be commemorated...yeah...bullocks. If it deserves to be commemorated, it should not only be once a year. But more regularly. Why don't we have the monthly or weekly day of commemoration when we commemorate every awful event that has happened ever at once? Or is this just turning into a business?

        What about your name?

What is your name, actually? What does it represent?  Someone would say "Our name is a sound that we answer to". It is a personalized feature, nonetheless. It belongs to us. Well, in some cases to us and a bunch of other people. There is Statistical data about names: how many names, the most popular, demographics, maybe some psychology statistics -e.g. 'People named Max like to...'- with the mention that correlation dos not imply causality.

So, the birth date is not that personalized, nor is your name. You share both of hem with lots of other people. More, you even share your genetics with your family, especially twins. There are studies that say that 1 human has on Earth 6 more "copies". You even share your personality. Doesn't matter what test you take, you do share your personality and your temper. Anyways, the temper is something that you can change, actually.  So, you are not that unique after all.
What makes people unique?

        Or are you?

There has to be something unique about you. Something that you leave behind and it is untouched.  YES! Your thoughts! You have your own thoughts and you are an independent rational being. Your thoughts are only yours. You have your own ideas and creativity, way of thinking and linking things inside and outside your head. Bad thing, you don't leave them behind. They die with you.
Isn't is sad? You either share something or die with it. Pfff......So, are you unique? Are people unique? Names, birth dates, dates, personalities; all of these are shared. Thoughts, you die with them.
There should be something! There should be something to make you, unique! We are all made "by his image and likeliness", therefore we share all of these. We have free will: we think for ourselves, we make our own decisions. And still, not unique?! What is the purpose of that? I mean, I don't thing God would put so much effort in making this world just to make people the same, like toys.

        What about story?

This has to be it! All the things I've thought about are basically useless. This is our last resort to uniqueness.

"What is this story that this nut head is talking about?" you may think. Well, if you ask that nicely, let me tell you. You are the story. Everything you've done, everything you've said, everywhere you've gone. These are your story, your legacy. After you die, this is what people will talk about. They will not talk about your "unique" name or birthday. They will talk about this story of yours, all those things I just said a few sentences ago.  They will ether say "he was a good man" or "he was not a good man". This is your obituary sen through others' eyes. This is the summary they have about your story.

What if they couldn't? What if they couldn't only say this? What if they would just start to talk and talk and talk about it without a stop? What if they would go on with the storytelling to the people you have or have not known and never stop without even mentioning your exact "bday" or your name.
